Ibn Khaldoun High School --- Tit Melil --- Casablanca
Welcome to Ibn Khaldoun High School!
Ibn Khaldoun High School is located in a small village near Casablanca called Tit Melil. It was built two years ago and is named after a Muslim historiographer and historian who is often viewed as one of the forerunners of modern historiography, sociology and economics.
He is best known for his Muqaddimah (known as Prolegomenon in English), which was discovered, evaluated and fully appreciated first by 19th century European scholarship, although it has also had considerable influence on 17th-century Ottoman historians who relied on his theories to analyze the growth and decline of the Ottoman empire. Later in the 19th century, Western scholars recognized him as one of the greatest philosophers to come out of the Muslim world.

RépondreSupprimerHello, Ibn Khaldun is the most important figure in the field of History and Sociology in Muslim History. He is one of those shining stars that contributed so richly to the understanding of Civilization. In order for one to understand and appreciate his work, one must understand his life. He lived a life in search of stability and influence. He came from a family of scholars and politicians and he intended to live up to both expectations. He would succeed in the field of Scholarship much more so than in any other field.
RépondreSupprimerHi, Abd al-Rahman Ibn Mohammad is generally known as Ibn Khaldun after a remote ancestor. His parents, originally Yemenite Arabs, had settled in Spain, but after the fall of Seville, had migrated to Tunisia. He was born in Tunisia in 1332 C.E., where he received his early education and where, still in his teens, he entered the service of the Egyptian ruler Sultan Barquq. His thirst for advanced knowledge and a better academic setting soon made him leave this service and migrate to Fez. This was followed by a long period of unrest marked by contemporary political rivalries affecting his career
RépondreSupprimerIbn khldoun is `Abd al-Rahman bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Al-Hasan bin Jabir bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Abdurahman bin Ibn Khaldun. According to Ibn Khaldun, his ancestors originated in Hadramut, Yemen. He also traced his ancestry (through another genealogy, as supplied by Ibn Hazem who looked to his grandfather who was the first to enter Andalusia) back to Wail ibn Hajar, one of the oldest Yemeni tribes. In either case, the genealogy points to his Arab origin, although scholars do question the authenticity of both reports due to the political climate at the time of the reports.
